The best hostel of my trip so far! The staff make the place, they’re all so welcoming and friendly - especially those Tarik and Saffron who are both predominantly on reception!! The kitchen is kept clean, nice bar with two lovely bartenders and plenty of activities going on but also not a party hostel with noise late into the night. Good bars nearby and walking distance to St Kilda Pier/beach. Would definitely come here again.

Everything is great, except no lift. If I were alone with a heavy suitcase, I wouldn’t stay here. But I was with my family and we enjoyed 2 nights staying here, despite the noise of dogs barking at nights. I think this hostel is pet friendly. We’re impressed with the friendly staffs at the reception desk. Oh also welcome drinks were provided near the reception.

Very clean and comfortable. The location is good with a tram station, laundry place, wollys e.g. near by. Staff was always friendly - would recommend!

Hostel was great fun! Ellie was amazing with quizzes (and great recommendation on the nail salon) and Harry was great behind bar! Would totally recommend :)

As an older 60s couple, we had not planned on staying at a hostel. At Roamer St Kilda the wonderful Tarik produced the last room for us. We thought we would be roomless on Melb Marathon weekend, due to a failure on our original booking at a nearby apartment, we found Roamer by accident and so glad we did. Tarik and Yannick (bar, reception and all round good guys) could not have been more welcoming and helpful and helped make our stay a great time. Lots to see and do and eat and drink in the immediate area. Supermarket and trams around the corner. Beautiful parks and beaches nearby.

Chill and friendly vibe here, just what you need after a long day of travelling. Nice bar, friendly staff which makes a huge difference, pool table, books. Cocktails, good cider on tap, and raffles, what more do you want?! Secure entry and exit at the main door is good esp considering location. Love that they've kept a lot of the original building architecture design. I don't understand why people complain that there isn't a lift for a two storey building! Or, why they'd expect there to be. The clean, fresh, and tidy double room was ideal. Tiny shared bathroom with one toilet and shower - all clean! Cos it's very small, more hooks would be useful for changing clothes and toiletries because there aren't any surfaces to put your stuff down. Downstairs G floor unisex shared shower pretty pitiful. Showerhead leaks - probably just needs a new washer or shower head? Floppy shower head which don't help. Nowhere dry to put your stuff as flow pooled with water, one tiny hook on the back of the door, and a cold tap handle which comes off every time you touch it - so watch out for yer feet. Overall a bit minging. Dorm beds good, clean, light and power cables in each bunk -and a like light curtain across each bed which makes a difference from everyone putting up towels for privacy years ago :D Barista on-site pours great coffee and has good chat. Bar closes at 11pm which is fine but would be useful to know when you check-in. Didn't see any kitchen or similar room for water, making tea or a snack which is something I've always used at a backpackers. Fortunately I had an esky & ice with my backpack because I'd been camping, usually I put my chilled stuff in a fridge in a communal kitchen when travelling. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 stars for the room is because the price changes dramatically, sometimes over $100 for a small double room to nearly $200. Pretty unexpected for a backpackers imho. The same with dorm bed prices changing and not being static - why would

i was a long stay at this hostel and the place was consistently great. a lovely welcome to melbourne, especially with tarik on the desk there to say hello each morning (or afternoon). i’d absolutely recommend it to someone looking at moving. great place and even better staff

Me and my partner have stayed here quite a few times now over the last 2 months. We have tried other hostels in the area and this is by far our favourite hostel we have stayed in. Really chill atmosphere with good facilities, an amazing jaffle cafe on site, a great bar and cozy common room. Kitchen is on the smaller size but gives you an opportunity to meet new people, of which most are very friendly. The staff are really lovely and accommodating. Shout out to Tarik for upgrading our room to keep us in our private bathroom room. It meant I didn't have to lug our suitcases down the stairs! Overall, we really recommend this hostel. Prices for dorms and privates are really reasonable, all of which are very clean and in good nick. Location is also great with two more great bars, two tram stops, a woolies, really good restaurants and even albert park all walking distance! - Liam and Izzy

Nice room, however toilets kept blocking up every couple days and the showers could be a bit cleaner. There was one shower on our floor and 2 toilets which didn’t seem like enough. The vibe of the place is nice and the people
